M.A.M. Concrete is based right here in Pueblo, a short drive from the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk and the brick storefronts of the Union Avenue Historic District. This is our home turf, not a territory we drive into on weekends. We pour driveways in Belmont, patios out in University Park near CSU Pueblo, and foundations from the North Side down to the old bungalows of Mesa Junction — and we know exactly how our soil and our winters treat concrete.

Pueblo sits in the Arkansas River valley, where expansive clay, more than 300 days of high-desert sun, and a long freeze-thaw season all work against a slab that wasn't built right. Most of the flatwork we tear out failed for the same two reasons: a skipped base or the wrong mix. We don't cut those corners.

From the historic homes around Bessemer and the old CF&I steelworks to the newer builds off Dillon Drive, we pour concrete that holds up and quote it with no surprises. Free estimates, a 10% veteran discount, and a crew that actually answers the phone.

Concrete services in Pueblo

We're a full-service residential concrete crew with some commercial work, and we handle nearly every flatwork job a Pueblo property needs:

Pueblo soil, sun, and freeze-thaw

A lot of Pueblo sits on expansive clay that swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries out, and that movement is hard on concrete that isn't supported underneath. We start every job with a properly excavated, compacted gravel base and set the slope so water drains away from your foundation — not toward it. For exterior flatwork we pour a 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix so the dozens of freeze-thaw cycles we get between October and April can't scale the surface apart.

Our high-desert sun is the other half of the story. Constant UV and dry air pull moisture out of fresh concrete fast, so we cure for a full seven days and finish with a penetrating sealer that also fends off the deicing salt that chews up north-side driveways every winter.

Neighborhoods and areas we serve in Pueblo

We pour across every side of town, and each part of Pueblo brings its own challenges — brick-era homes with narrow lots, mid-century ranches, and newer subdivisions on the mesa:

  • Belmont, Highland Park & Aberdeen — mid-century ranch driveways, patios, and replacement flatwork
  • Bessemer & Mesa Junction — historic homes near the old steelworks where tight access and repair work are common
  • University Park & CSU Pueblo — patios, walkways, and rental-property flatwork
  • Downtown & the Union Avenue Historic District — sidewalks, storefront aprons, and light commercial pours
  • North Side, Regency, Sunset, Southgate, El Camino & Eastwood — newer builds needing driveways, garage slabs, and foundations

Sealing matters more on the north side

If your driveway faces the street where the city and your own bag of ice-melt do their work all winter, ask about a penetrating sealer at pour time. Deicing salt plus freeze-thaw is the fastest way to scale a Pueblo slab — a sealer refreshed every few years is cheap insurance.

Concrete in Pueblo: common questions

It depends on the job. Driveway approaches that tie into the city right-of-way and new structural foundations typically require a permit, while a backyard patio replacement usually does not. We handle the paperwork where the City of Pueblo requires it and confirm any HOA rules before we pour.
